High Moor Show and Fancy Dress

On the 9th September High Moor Show held another show in glorious sunshine, it was also their annual  Horse and Pony fancy dress competition, for which we were asked again this year, to act as  Judges.    Every year, lots of work and preparation go into this event, by those entering, and this year was no exception, with 12 competitors entering

The photos here are of the winners, First prize to Oliver and Lucy Archer with Little John dressed as an Elephant.   The second place was awarded to Linda Kusht on Malo and a close third  was Charley Bryan on Trevor made up as a Zebra.   The  judging was hard as the standard was high, unfortunately there can only be three winners, however all competitors  did receive a rosette for taking part.

High Moor Horse Show – 26th August

Due to cancellations earlier in the year, High Moor Horse Show events are coming around every two weeks at the moment.    While rain affected other local horse shows,  Jill and the team at High Moor, ran their show despite the looming rain clouds.   Despite being a bit short staffed due to the  Bank Holiday, we managed to cover most rings, before the arrival of the rain.  Some of the photos taken can be seen here,  the rest are on our Website at    and on

Bradwell Carnival

Bradwell Carnival, was the climax to the end of a very busy week for us, having carried out four horse shoes and the carnival in a week. Here are some of the photos from the day, which started well in glorious sunshine, which lasted for for most of the day. Derbyshire Photographic went along mainly to support the event, offering our Photo Studio Tent, with a green screen studio.
The day went well with the procession and the entertainment on the field. As the entertainment finished at 4.30pm, the heavens opened with a downpoor of heavy rain. Everybody dashed for cover out of the main arena , leaving just the stall holders and ourselves on the field. As a result it was a washout for us and very little into the carnival funds. But thats British weather for you, you win some you lose some….. here are some of the pics we did take. with some more on our Facebook page at

New Tent for a Studio at Events

New Tent for a Studio at Events

These are exciting times at Derbyshire Photographic,  today I  bought a 3mtr x 4 mtr White ‘Gala Tent’  for the purpose of creating a truly portable greenscreen photographic studio for use at village Fetes and Carnivals.  The tent will be rigged out with studio lighting powered by the Event Vans electronic system.   This novel concept will allow Derbyshire Photogrphic  to produce Studio Quality photographs that can on the day be ready in minutes for families to take home with them.

The Greenscreen concept will allow funny informal photographs to be taken with a huge selection of backgrounds [ the worlds your oyster only limited to your imagination].  Green screen will also allow the background to be as formal as you want, including pure white, black, brown,  red curtains or just  a blue sky.
