LadyManorsSchool, held their Year 11 Prom at Palace Hotel on Friday 28th June. The weather was wasn’t too kind for arrivals; most of the arrivals had to dash for the hotels doors, to avoid the rain. Unfortunately we missed out on the usual lawn group photos, but we did manage a few outside shots.
This Prom had a James Bond theme, so we took along our green screen background, to produce the Bond theme backdrops, together with a smaller formal background to show off the dresses.
All The photos are now online at http://www.derbyshirephoto.co.uk/buy-online/ password protected, details can be obtained from Mrs Sanover at the school. Here are some of the photos
Dogs Unleashed 2013 is an Annual two day Dog Show, aimed at dogs of any description, held on Bakewell Showground 22nd & 23rd June, allowing them to take part in all the various doggy events the show had to offer [For more information about Dog Unleashed go to www.dogsunleashed.co.uk ]
This was our second year with this wonderful two day show, where we offered Free Dog Portrait sessions to all visitors and competitors, using studio lighting and backdrops in our Portrait Tent. Dogs and Babies are not the world’s easiest subjects to capture, without a bit of patience, but after several photos had been taken, the owner could, without obligation, view the images in our photo van and get a print to take home with them. Things like leads and blemishes, being quickly removed in Photoshop prior to printing. All photographs taken on the over the two days are still available at Derbyshire Photographic for owners but have not been put on-line
If anyone is interested in Dog Portraits we have been invited to attend another dog show at Bakewell on Sunday 25th August 2013, The FESTIBULL Dog Show, where we will be offering the same dog portraits to visitors at the show.
Here are some of the dog portraits, taken over the two days at Dogs Unleashed 2013. Due to space on the blog, there are more of these images on my Facebook page, use the logo on this website to navigate there.
Sara and Darren Wright of the Miners Standard, Winster, got married at St JohnsChurchon the 15th June, on a beautiful sunny day. We attended covered the days formal wedding photography. The wedding was a late one, the service taking place at 4pm. Despite this the weather was kind to us all day, allowing photographs to be taken up to 7pm
As part of our wedding package, the couple decided to give ‘wedding favours’ to all their guests in the form of a free photograph, taken at the reception in our wedding photo studio. Photographs taken on the night are printed immediately after the shot within 12 seconds. A second identical photo, is put into a guest book, we invite the guest to leave a suitable comments for the happy couple. At these events we always take with us some fancy dress items, which became the highlight of the night for some.
At the end of the night we handed the guest book, photos and comments,to the Sara and Darren. Sara the bride, on viewing it, shed a small tear, delighted with the result.

Sunday was High Moor Open Horse Show June meeting held in glorious sunshine. This brought out lots more competitors and visitors than usual making it a very busy day. Unfortunately we were short staffed, with only two photographers to cover all the rings, leaving me in the van printing and Linda on sales and admin for the Togs
We have a policy now no longer put High Moor Images online due to lack of support, despite getting hundreds of hits to the site, we do however keep past show photographs on our server for viewing for anybody wishing to view and buy from previous shows.
Here are some photos from the Junes Show I like, including the dog. At most shows now we doggy people wanting a portraits of their best friend photographed for which we try to oblige [ including photo shopping out the lead]. This show we even took out a person to the side of her horse.
Studio Portrait Photography seemed to be a dying trade in these times of Mobile Phones and Uncle Bob with his new DSLR. Surprisingly we are finding that people are now drifting back into the studio type portrait [because dear old uncle Bob can't produce that type of shot]
Our studio seems to be getting more and more requests for of these bookings for this type of work, mainly for the big family groups. Here is one we did a few weeks ago for a local family which was a treat organised by Grandma.
On Sunday 19th May 2013, Helens Trust held Annual Fun Run inChatsworthPark, hosted by his grace the Duke of Devonshire. And what a great day it was to hold the event. At Christmas we raised £50 at a Santa’s Grotto, and were scheduled to run an Easter Bunny shoot which got cancelled due to the bad weather. We eventually took part in the Bakewell Food Festival, where we set up a mini studio in the entrance to Bakewell Coop with a green screen and printing facilities, tight as it was, here are some of the shots taken. The day raised £100 for the charity.
We are attending two further Charity Events for the trust in the one in May and another in October, watch out details on this Blog
High Moor Open Horse Show held their first show of the season on Sunday the 21st April. The weather was bright but a little chilly with what I can only think was a record attendance of competitors. We attended minus out trusty van which was in for an expensive repair to its front calipers. Undeterred we attended with three photographers and a laptop to download the images, and managed to cover most of the events rings. The following day I downloaded over 2500 photos online for the shows members to view, and hopefully purchase. Here are some of them the rest can be found at our buy- online part of the website. http://www.derbyshirephoto.co.uk/buy-online/
