On the 3rd March 2016, The Barlow Pony Club held their annual Hunter Trials on the Osberton Estate Nr Worksop. Last years event had a day of continuous rain, this year they had glorious sunshine all day. The event as always was very well attended especially in the intermediate and open classes. We were able to cover four jumps on the day, creating over 2000 usable photographs. The days events can be viewed on our website at http://www.derbyshirephoto.co.uk/buy-online/ Here are a few to give you a flavour of the event.
At !0 pm Saturday 20th June at the Proact Stadium Chesterfield around 1500 walkers gathered for the Annual Sparkle Walk in aid of the charity. On the night a staggering £127,000 had been pledged to the charity.
We had the task of covering the start line with our 7mtr mast in a very low light photo shoot.
Here are some of the photos taken on the night the rest can be found on our website http://www.derbyshirephoto.co.uk/buy-online/
The Barlow Hunter Trial this year was held on the 29th March, at its usual venue on the Osberton Estate, Nr Worksop. Despite some very heavy rain during the day the event was well attended, especially in the Novice Section. This was the third time we covered this event, the other two held in glorious sunshine, so it came as a bit of a culture shock to our 4 photographers covering the fences, sometime in heavy rain. Despite this we managed to get some stunning photos of the competitors navigating the course, jumping well constructed jumps we have come to expect at this event.
Here a few examples of the day, the rest can be found at our website www.derbyshirephoto.co.uk/buy-online
As some will know, I have recently had a knee operation, which grounded me for a couple of months, and unable to drive. This gave me time to carry out some of my own personal projects, this being Hollywood Lighting
The first photo is a result of photographing it the old fashion way, with tungsten lighting and an old hassleblad camera with a manual focus lenses. It took forever to get it right due to the long exposures needed, but in the end, gave that 30′s look with large parts of the photo out of focus I was after. For my second attempt I used a modern camera with auto focus lens and studio flash, which produced photos two and three, more of a 40s/50s look. Both have their own unique qualities given the right situation, and my thanks to the two models, Zoe & Lauren for their help in producing these photos.
We have been pretty busy since August and so I’m afraid the Blog and Facebook have been neglected a bit, but its now catch up time.
Just before Bakewell Show we had the privilege to photograph Lizzy and Joseph at their wedding at the Pro -Act Football Stadium at Chesterfield. The couple used our wedding photo studio at their reception, which was a great hit with with the families. Those attending the studio all received all a photo, with a second pasted in a guest book for guests to add their comments to the Bride and Groom. This service is similar to a Photo Booth but with the ability to get full length photos and groups, with props.
High Moor Open Horse Show held their August event and their annual fancy dress event on the 11th August. It was a beautiful day and well attended. I have decided to put this show online to see if it’s now financially viable, to continue putting images online with the time and effort involved. To view photos of 11th August High Moor Show Photos see.
Bakewell Show 2013 photos are now online. The show held its annual Horse Show on Tuesday 6th August, sporting three rings, Center ring, Ring One and Ring Two. This year Ring One included a dressage ring. We attended the show covering all three rings with our photographers, these photographs can now be found on our website.
The following two days 6th and 7th August was the main Bakewell Show 2013, with all the usual extra attractions of stalls and events. Superb weather for all three days photography, attracting thousands of visitors
Derbyshire Photographic photographers were covering all the equestrian rings for the show, Center Ring, Ring One, Ring 2A and Ring 2B. In all over the three days we managed to take 10,000 photographs and are now online
Here are some of the images taken over the three days, the rest can now be found on our website at http://www.derbyshirephoto.co.uk/buy-online/
High Moor show on the 14th July was a scorcher, with a reasonable turnout of competitors. With extra staff on this show we were able to cover the minimus ring. Here are some of the photographs taken on the day.
Glossopdale Community College, year 11 Prom was our last Prom for the season, with around 170 students attending. In the past we have struggled with large number groups who want to be photographed using our standard background. To combat this, and at his event, we used a new 4 meter black backdrop, which can now easily accommodate the larger groups. For this prom we used our standard Grey/Blue canvas backdrop for individuals and small groups, which is great for dress details and the new 4 meter backdrop for the large groups. To speed printing up we had all three of our print/sales stations working most of the night. Here are some of the photos, the rest are online at. http://www.derbyshirephoto.co.uk/buy-online/ these are password protected, details can be obtained from the school.
A 50th Birthday Party with differences at the Palace Hotel, all the guests turned up in fancy dress and had a wonderful time. We supplied the Studio and the guest book package we offer, where each guest gets a free photo, courtesy of the host in a mount, to take home, and a second is placed in a guest book, inviting party goers to leave suitable comment to the host. Fabulous costumes here are some of them:-
